2018-11-06 The MidTerm Update: Settings, Power-Ups, and Tweaks

In an attempt to simplify configuration for new users, the settings have been moved and are largely controlled by the new Power-Up concept. Certain features and be toggled on and off, such as whether you want to track Instructors by enabling the Instructor Power-Up. This keeps the interface cleaner and only shows you the features you need.

No action is required for existing schools.

2018-09-27 Minor Update: Transfers

  • Fixed: There was an issue that impacted some unlucky users that had bad characters in class names that kept the Transfer function from working.  This usually, but not always, happened when a class name was copy and pasted into the form.  This update keeps funny characters from causing problems.

Registrant Facing:

  • Changed: More refined fonts
  • Changed: Soft linen background on all parent-facing screens
  • Changed: Nice pop-up highlight when hovering over an entry
  • Improved responsiveness for various screen sizes
  • New: Impressed accessibility for screen readers (beta)
  • Changed: The number of remaining slots is no longer shown during the checkout process.
  • New: Classes are now limited to 50 students (please contact us if this is problematic)

Admin Facing

  • New: This in-app notification system
  • Improved: Reports
    • Up to 6 custom header rows
    • Dynamic text in each header row
      • {{ClassName}} –> Chess Academy
      • {{Grades}} –> 1 – 5
      • etc.
    • Sort on multiple columns, useful sorting by day, then grad, then name, etc.
    • Quick reports from the Dashboard. Saved reports, and helpful built-ins, are now instantly available.
    • Cycle over classes: You can now instantly create one spreadsheet that pivots over each class, with a different tab for each class.
    • Built-In cycling over Teachers – useful for distributing a report to each daytime teacher.
    • Built-In Master List that pivots by Day of Week
    • Note: If you use custom forms, some reports will not be available to you.  Please contact support for help.
  • Pagination: Limits pages to 50 classes, which keeps Archives from timing out
